This is Ian Darwin’s personal web site and blog site. There are no ads here other than things I sell or things I like.
I’ve worked as a software developer for decades, developing software for a range of systems from IBM mainframe to Unix/Linux systems to Java (desktop and enterprise) to today’s mobile devices. A bunch of my software is available in my hundred-plus github repositories, some of which are included in Github’s "arctic code vault".
I’ve written several books for software developers and administrators, and written and taught a number of courses for developers both in academia and in commercial training.
Here is my blog and some other blogs I read.
I live in the rolling hills north of Toronto, Canada. My wife and I raised three children here. They all went to university; one graduated & has a job in tech, one died, and one went out to work.
Maybe I’ll write an autobiography someday and tell my whole story.
